Viz Transylvania Youth Leadership Program
The Viz Program is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding youth need to become the next generation of effective community leaders. It is based on valuing and promoting: growth and learning, collaboration, inclusivity, diversity, openness, creativity, flexibility and team building.
The Program is open to juniors from Brevard High School, Rosman High School and Davidson River School. Students submit an application in the spring of their sophomore year for a year-long exploration of the concept of leadership.
Students explore civic responsibility and engagement, enhance their awareness of their community, and practice consensus building and effective decision-making skills.

Viz Transylvania Goals:
Increase participants’ understanding of the concept of leadership.
Increase participants’ understanding of and appreciation for working collaboratively.
Assist participants in developing specific skills needed for effective leadership and responsible involvement in community affairs.
Provide participants with a process for examining issues facing their communities and experiencing the team approach to solving problems.
Increase participants’ awareness of themselves and how they relate to others
Provide opportunities for participants to apply the knowledge, skills and understandings through meaningful service to the community.
